Chem-Rod Grounding Electrode

Unlike other electrolytic grounding systems, the Chem-Rod chemically conditions a large volume of soil. The specially formulated mineral salts are evenly distributed along the entire length of the electrode; and continuous conditioning of a larger area ensures an ultra-low resistance ground that is more effective than alternative systems. Efficiency levels are high enough that one Chem-Rod can replace up to 10 conventional rods. This is an important factor when one estimates the number of rods and area of land it takes to achieve low resistance grounds of less than one ohm.
Application examples include Commercial and Industrial Electrical Service Grounds, Process Controlled Systems for Grounding, Process Control System (PCS), Remote Terminal Units (RTU), Electrical Substations, and Transmission Line Towers. The Chem-Rod system meets or exceeds all design codes and safety standards developed to protect personnel, property and sensitive equipment. The rods are available in vertical or horizontal configurations and are 2 5/8 in. in diameter. This larger diameter provides more soil contact surface area as well as a large mineral salt "charge". The length of the rods vary from 4 to 20 feet; the 8 ft. and 10 ft. models are UL listed.
