Chandra Asri Petrochemical Revamps Naphtha Cracker Plant To 900KTA Ethylene

PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (CAP), Indonesia’s largest integrated petrochemical company, has awarded CB&I, located in the United States, the material supply agreement to revamp the existing furnaces of its Naphtha Cracker plant. Both companies had signed basic and detailed engineering services agreement earlier this year. The furnaces revamp is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2020.

This furnace revamping project of which construction will commence in third quarter of 2018 will increase CAP’s Ethylene production capacity from 860KTA (kilo tons per annum) to 900KTA, Propylene from 470KTA to 490KTA, Py-Gas from 400KTA to 420KTA, and Mixed C4 from 315KTA to 330KTA. These additional production capacities will enable CAP to further serve Indonesian demand for petrochemical products.
