CFX-5 Next Generation CFD Technology

CFX-5 can be used to optimize aerodynamic design, to predict the performance of ventilation and heating systems, or to simulate the flow of liquids in car engine and braking systems
N/A5 can be used to optimize aerodynamic design, to predict the performance of ventilation and heating systems, or to simulate the flow of liquids in car engine and braking systems. It offers automatic hybrid meshing, which means designs created with CAD (Computer Aided Design) can be easily translated into a CFD computer model.
N/A5 supports fully unstructured meshes with both pyramid (tetrahedra) and prism elements, which enables it to build very accurate models. CFX-5 shortens the time for mesh generation by automatically building the grid with data directly imported from CAD packages. It automatically grows prismatic elements normal to the model surfaces and then switches to tetrahedra within the remaining volume. This combination of different element types provides a method for accurately resolving boundary layer and general fluid flows with an optimal size of grid.
N/A5 also includes a problem definition facility, the CFX Expression Language (CEL) that makes the system more user friendly and can be used by those with a limited understanding of CFD software. The engineer is guided through intuitive graphical menus where they can work in their preferred units. Model creation in CFX-5 is much more intuitive than in most other CFD packages and is significantly faster.
Cars will be designed using software developed by <%=company%>. Daihatsu of Japan has bought the latest version of the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software to help them design future models. The Japanese car company bought CFX-5 after its ability to model flows of both gases and liquids around and inside vehicles was demonstrated at the Japan Automobile Association meeting in Tokyo.
