Caustic Soda

Olin Chlor Alkali Products was not only the first to produce high purity caustic soda in the U.S., we pioneered the commercial use of the electrolytic cell process. Today, we continue to be an industry leader, producing all three grades of liquid caustic soda: rayon, membrane and commercial.

Seventy percent of our caustic soda production is high purity. You are assured of quick responsiveness because of our strategically placed production and distribution facilities. In fact, many sites are near leading paper, textile and petroleum centers throughout the Southeast.

All product grades are available as food grade sodium hydroxide, meeting all provisions of the Food Chemical Codex.

Storage and handling
50% caustic soda should be stored in properly designed and constructed tanks suitable for caustic soda service. Mild steel is a generally acceptable material of construction if slight iron contamination can be tolerated.

Specific storage requirements will vary depending upon tank size, storage temperature and other process requirements.
