BioEnergy Announces Specialty Chemicals Leadership Team
Quincy, MA - BioEnergy International, LLC (BioEnergy), a science and technology leader in the development of biorefineries that produce specialty chemicals and biofuels from renewable resources, announced the addition of Dr.'s Cenan Ozmeral and Cary Veith to BioEnergy's leadership team and the establishment of a formal Specialty Chemicals Division. "The addition of these proven leaders, with their vast experience from premier chemical companies, positions our renewable specialty chemicals business and specifically our succinic acid platform for rapid implementation," stated BioEnergy's CEO, Stephen Gatto. Mr. Gatto added, "I am really excited about the future with such a high powered, talented group of leaders, and I look forward to their contribution toward making BioEnergy the world's leading biobased specialty chemical player."
On November 20th, Dr. Ozmeral was appointed Sr. Vice President and General Manager, Specialty Chemicals. Dr. Ozmeral brings specific experience honed from 29 years in the chemical polymer industry, developing and growing specialty chemicals and polymers businesses for the world's largest chemical company, BASF, where he most recently served as Vice President Acrylic Dispersions and XSB Latex Business, NAFTA Region. He has extensive multi-disciplinary experience in business, marketing and research in Petrochemicals, Industrial Organics, Plasticizer Chemicals, Specialty Diols, Intermediates and Agricultural Chemicals. Dr. Ozmeral holds an MBA from Louisiana State University, a Ph.D. from the University of New Orleans in Chemistry, as well as an MS from Pennsylvania State University and a BS from American University in Istanbul, both in Chemistry.
Additionally, on December 1st, Dr. Cary Veith was appointed Vice President, Research and Development. Dr. Veith is a broadly experienced chemical industrial product professional with over 25 years of success, most recently as a Vice President/General Manager at DuPont. He brings exceptional strategic capabilities to BioEnergy along with business development, marketing and sales, research engineering and intellectual property expertise. Dr. Veith earned his MBA from the University of Chicago, received his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from MIT and holds a B.S. from the University of Akron in Chemical Engineering, where he graduated summa cum laude.
With the addition of Drs. Ozmeral and Veith, Dr. Joseph Glas assumes the role of Executive Vice President to further propel BioEnergy as a premier biobased specialty chemical and bioplastics industry leader.
