Continental Disc Corporation, an industry leader in manufacturing rupture disc overpressure relief devices, presents our B.D.I. (Burst Disc Indicator) Alarm System; a complete system for immediate signaling of overpressure relief through a rupture disc. Continental's B.D.I. Alarm System may be used in any application where warning of overpressure or vacuum relief is essential for plant safety or to minimize product loss or contamination.

Continental's B.D.I. Alarm System features our patented B.D.I. Alarm Strip which installs as an integral part of a rupture disc or as an independent assembly, and a full-line of B.D.I. Alarm Monitors. This system uses a normally closed electrical circuit to provide a continuous electrical signal flowing between the B.D.I. Alarm Strip and the connected Alarm Monitor. Immediately following actuation of the rupture disc, the B.D.I. Alarm Strip is severed and the electrical circuit is opened. This action interrupts the monitored signal to initiate the monitor's alarms and/or relays.

Control, annunciator, light panels or other signaling device options available with Continental's B.D.I. Alarm Monitors can be used to notify plant personnel that a rupture disc has relieved an overpressure condition. Pumps, valves and other system equipment may also be activated from this circuitry to immediately respond to an overpressure situation.

Continental's B.D.I. Alarm Monitors provide several beneficial features including visual and/or auditory alarm signals, multi-channel modular design and availability of intrinsically safe barriers approved for use in many countries.
