Bayonet heaters (in essence "immersion heaters") are designed to be immersed directly into process chemicals for steam-heating these chemicals to desired temperature levels.

They are furnished complete, ready for easy installation into process lines, basic units employ the company's proprietary Impervite impervious graphite, for high corrosion resistance. For extremely demanding, very-high-corrosion applications, AC Advanced Ceramic units are available.

In either case, the units, high thermal conductivity provides for efficient heat transfer, and basic materials and construction, are designed for reliability, long life and minimum maintenance.

The Impervite units will accommodate steam pressures up to 50 psi and temperatures to 340° F. Figures for the AC units are up to 100 PSI and 360° F.

Units may be installed horizontally, such as through flanged nozzles. Vertically, such as through a stuffing box. Or suspended directly into an open tank. The type installation should be specified when ordering. Where liquid surrounding the bayonet is agitated, the end of the unit should be supported. Bayonets also are suitable for cooling applications. This service should be specified when ordering.
