Bayer MaterialScience Announces HELM U.S. Corporation As North American Distributor Of Bisphenol-A (BPA)

Bayer MaterialScience announced today that HELM U.S. Corporation will serve as the company's North American distributor of Bisphenol-A (BPA), effective Nov. 1, 2004.

The distribution agreement will broaden Bayer MaterialScience's BPA industry presence and expand HELM‘s specialty and industrial chemicals portfolio. Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"We are extremely pleased that HELM U.S. will be our distributor of BPA in this region," said Rainer Schorr, Head of Bayer MaterialScience's Polycarbonate Business Unit in North America. "HELM's industry knowledge and logistics network will provide BPA customers with a proven supplier in the industry."

BPA is a chemical building block that is used primarily to make polycarbonate plastic and epoxy resins.

"This agreement will create value and invigorate our distribution network with a higher key competence in our defined business fields," said Andreas Weimann, President of HELM U.S. Corporation.
