Axsia acquires Richard Mozley

Axsia acquires Richard Mozley
Axsia Group Ltd. has acquired Richard Mozley Ltd. (Redruth, Cornwall, UK), a manufacturer of hydrocyclones and other enhanced gravity separation technology.

The move broadens Axsia's product line. The company is best known for operating several fluid processing technology companies, including Axsia Serck Baker and Axsia Howmar.

Founded in 1977, Mozley initially developed high-efficiency, small-diameter hydrocylones for the china clay and minerals markets. It later expanded the technology to include food, oil, and gas.

Its two most important recent developments are high-pressure wellhead desanders for the oil industry and the multigravity separator (MGS). The latter combines the principles of panning with higher gravitational forces created by a spinning drum to separate minerals as small as 2 microns dia.

The Mozley multigravity separator separates very fine particles through a combination of spinning and shaking.

"Axsia and Richard Mozley have had a long association and have collaborated on a number of projects," says Group managing director Peter Michaluk. "Their innovative approach to solving separation problems will complement that of the Axsia companies who are already leaders in their own right for hydrocyclone technology in the oil and gas market. They will also provide Axsia with new markets within the food, mining and minerals industries."
