Aspen Technology Expands in Canada

Aspen Technology, Inc. (Cambridge, MA) has completed its acquisition of Treiber Controls, Inc. (Toronto, Ontario), a provider of advanced process control and real-time optimization technologies and services.

Treiber's customer base spans process industry segments including petroleum refining, polymers, natural gas, petrochemicals, air separation and pulp & paper. Key customers include Fort James Corp., Husky Oil, Methanex Inc., Noranda Inc., Nova Chemicals Ltd., Petro-Canada Products and Ultramar-Diamond Shamrock.

"Treiber Controls will meaningfully expand our project execution capability, as well as strengthen AspenTech's presence in the important Canadian market," said Larry Evans, chairman and CEO of AspenTech. Evans said that he expects Treiber's engineers to supplement AspenTech's delivery in the refining and petrochemical industries, as well as in the pulp & paper and polymer segments.

Aspen Technology, Inc. supplies software and services for the analysis, design and automation of process manufacturing plants.
