Air Liquide America to supply hydrogen to Geismar industrial basin
This plant is further representation of Air Liquide America's commitment to the Louisiana chemical and oil and gas market. Earlier this year, the company started up a major air gases and cogeneration complex in Geismar, representing Air Liquide's largest single industrial investment in North America to date. The company also recently opened a customer center in Baton Rouge to accommodate clients in Louisiana and much of the Gulf Coast region.
Air Liquide America expects this plant to pave the way for other industrial gases plants in the future to service chemical and oil and gas customers along its Mississippi River pipeline system.
``This plant represents a significant expansion and diversification of Air Liquide America's presence in the Mississippi River industrial basin via a key product -- hydrogen,'' said Pierre Dufour, CEO of Air Liquide America Corporation. ``We are looking forward to building our hydrogen business by providing the highest quality industrial gases and related services to customers in the area.''
