Acima Specialty Chemicals Announces The Commercialization Of Metatin Katalysator 1230 Catalyst

A fast, reliable alternative to dibutyltin and dioctylin catalysts

Acima Specialty Chemicals, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company, recently announced the commercialization of Metatin Katalysator 1230 Catalyst, a dimethyltin catalyst that was developed as new option for companies using dibutyltin and dioctylin catalysts.

Metatin Katalysator 1230 Catalyst offers excellent reactivity and ease of formulation in products ranging from polyurethanes to polysilicones. Metatin Katalysator 1230 can replace dioctyltin catalysts and dibutyltin catalysts. Metatin Katalysator 1230 is self classified as CMR Cat 3, pending ECHA review.

"When compared to the performance benefits of other organometallic compounds, Metatin Katalysator 1230 Catalyst performs better than existing dibutyltin catalysts. The key benefit is a fast and reliable response, as well as having one of the more favorable regulatory profiles among Organotin catalysts," said Cord Manegold, marketing manager for Acima and Dow Performance Materials.

This product is already in use by customers around the world. To learn more about this exciting new catalyst, please contact Cord Manegold (cmanegold@dow.com) or your local Acima Specialty Chemicals distributor.
