ACHEMA 2000: Particle-Size Analyzer

The Gradex 2000 unit automatives sieve analysis of dry granular materials. It uses a stack of standard 8-in. (200-mm) round test sieves. Sieving action is generated by a shaking/rotating mechanism that duplicates the action of manual sieves. The unit automatically classifies and weighs each sieve fraction, calculates and sores weight values and reports the data to a PC or controller. The automation aspects of the Gradex 2000 allow it to be used at the point of sampling, enabling operators to perform the analysis on the plant floor and to use the results immediately without waiting for laboratory response. Utilities are 110 V a.c. and 90-psig air. Balance capacity is 5,000 g, and balance resolution is 0.1 g.
