INVISTA Dibasic Esters are refined dimethyl esters of adipic, glutaric, and succinic acids. The primary refined ester product is designated DBE. INVISTA fractionates DBE into other mixtures and pure components to satisfy market needs. In addition to DBE, there are six DBE fractions commercially available for specialty applications. They are DBE-2, DBE-3, DBE-4, DBE-5, DBE-6, and DBE-9. DBE and each of the fractions are clear, colorless liquids having a mild, agreeable odor. They are readily soluble in alcohols, ketones, ethers and most hydrocarbons, but are only slightly soluble in water and higher paraffinic hydrocarbons.
Dibasic Esters are stable in air at normal ambient conditions of temperature and humidity. Therefore, they may be handled and stored without the need for precautions to prevent autoxidation or hydrolysis.
