The Gemini PIV 200, an instrument for air and water flow PIV, is a compact, dual-head laser that produces 200 mJ of energy at 532 nm and operates at a maximum repetition rate of 15 Hz per head. Housed in the same small package as the existing Gemini, the new unit produces 67% higher energy, which allows users of PIV to expand interrogation areas by 30%.

Like its predecessors, the machine provides excellent set-up and operational flexibility and requires a minimum amount of valuable lab space. Measuring just 16.63in. L x 8.25in. W x 3.38in.H and weighing only 14 lbs., it is the smallest 200 mJ Nd:YAG laser on the market today—the laser head is less than half the size of competing lasers with the same output.

The instrument offers three trigger controls: single-shot, continuous, and TTL. Separate lamp and Q-switch trigger inputs allow users to vary the delay between pulses, making it possible to study widely variable flow rates. It incorporates internal, closed-loop cooling and operates from single-phase 115 or 230 VAC.
