Dow Biocides Announces Global Price Increase For Glutaraldehyde & Dbnpa Products

Buffalo Grove, Ill - Dow Biocides, a business group of The Dow Chemical Company and its affiliates (Dow), announcd a price increase for both list and off-list prices of its solid DBNPA, and its entire glutaraldehyde product portfolios, effective January 1, 2008. DPNPA products will increase by 10 U.S. cents per pound in North America and by 10 percent (10%) for the rest of the world. Glutaraldehyde products will increase by 10 U.S. cents per pound in North America and by 10 percent (10%) for the rest of the world.

"We continue to see costs escalate in this highly regulated industry leading to continued upward cost pressures in the market. This price increase is necessary to enable our continued reinvestment both in our business and within the biocides industry," said Nanette Hermsen, global marketing manager for Dow Biocides.

Product trade names for DNBPA (2,2-Dibromo-3-nitrilopropionamide) from Dow Biocides include DBNPA PTech, DBNPA 100 Powder, and AQUCAR DBNPA 100 Water Treatment Microbiocide. Product trade names for glutaraldehyde from Dow Biocides include AQUCAR Water Treatment Microbiocides, GLUTEX Sanitizers for animal housing biosecurity, UCARCIDE Antimicrobial and Preservatives, UCARSAN Sanitizers, and ZOLDINETM Synthetic Tanning Agents.
