Clark, NJ - Assured Automation's Online Configurator makes it quick and easy to specify PTP Series valves for irrigation, wastewater, pool, water, filtration and light duty chemical applications.

Engineers tasked with improving efficiency and reducing cost find Assured Automation's 3-way PVC ball valves provide both. Rather than using two 2-way automated valves to control the flow of liquids, a single 3-way valve does the job with fewer components and lower cost.

Better Economics
With a single automated 3-way valve, there is no need to purchase and install multiple actuators and solenoids which saves I/O space in the control panel. A single 3-way valve eliminates extra overhead and installation time -- and money. In addition, eliminating the second valve, actuator, and solenoid reduces the weight of the piping system and occupies less space.

Waste Water Treatment Plant Lesson
A local waste treatment plant experienced a costly error using multiple valves to divert the flow of waste to its treatment tanks. Two valves were on a tee assembly, one was open and the other was closed-diverting flow from one tank to a second tank. When a solenoid coil burned out on one of the valves, the second valve failed to turn, leaving a closed piping system with a pump running. The pump dead headed and became irreparably damaged. The consequences were significant – and expensive. The plant was shut down until the waste stream could be repaired.

Best Practices for Diverting Flow
Assured Automation recommended replacing multiple valves with their L Port PTP Series 3-way PVC ball valve. The 3-way L port design always has a port open, even while in transition, so there is never a chance for dead heading a pump. The waste water plant supervisor worked with Assured Automation to improve their flow design, and subsequently replaced all of their multiple ball valves with PTP Series valves. The 3-way valves have made the piping design much simpler, and they have been running flawlessly for over a year.

Online Configurator
Assured Automation has added an online configurator for the PTP Series 3-way PVC ball valve to make it quick and easy for engineers to specify their requirements and obtain all relevant information needed to make a selection. Within a few key clicks, engineers select:

  • Valve Size
  • End Connections
  • Actuator type (pneumatic, electric)
  • Accessories (limit switches, solenoid valves)

When selecting among the configurator options, engineers are able to:

  • See the complete valve design
  • Generate prices and quotes
  • Order immediately online
