Thin Film Evaporators

Thin Film Evaporators are used for numerous applications in chemical, pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetic industries.
Thin Film Evaporators are used for numerous applications in chemical, pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetic industries. The stripping of light volatiles, such as water, alcohols, esters, and similar solvents with high evaporation heat, can easily be done at atmospheric pressure or in rough vacuum. Being combined with an external condenser, distillations in a pressure range of approx. 5-1000 mbar can be done. For the re-evaporation of the residue from rectification columns, the evaporators are mainly used for rectification in vacuum.

The company's RF-series Thin Film Evaporators with evaporation surfaces between 0.2-24 m2 and thus throughputs between less than 1 kg/h up to several tons/h can be realized.

The integrated roller wiper system guarantees an optimal mixing of the product film as well as a uniform distribution of the product onto the evaporator surface. An overheating of the product at evaporation temperature is being drastically reduced. The well-constructed evaporators do not need bottom bearings so that problems of product penetrating into these bearings do not exist.

In addition to a Thin Film Evaporator, in most cases secondary components are required, e.g. for feed and discharge, to generate vacuum, for heating and cooling, for control, etc. Multi-stage plants often combine Thin Film Evaporators with Falling Film Evaporators and Short Path Distillators. The company offers the planning and realization of complete plants, individually constructed according to special requirements and distillation tasks. Laboratory and pilot plants are available to perform trial distillations.
