Silicon Chemical Corporation - Provides Process Technology For New Polysilicon Plant Under Development By SILFAB S.p.A., Of Padua, Italy
Vancouver, WA - Silicon Chemical Corporation (SCC), a major supplier of silicon process technology to the polysilicon and solar industries, announced recently their contract and cooperation with SILFAB S.p.A., of Padua, Italy in the development of a 5000 MTY state-of-the-art polysilicon manufacturing facility sited in Borgofranco d'Ivrea (Turin), Italy. SCC has already successfully completed and delivered their Process Technology Package and continues to actively support project engineering activities.
SCC is providing trichlorosilane production and purification technology and the integration of the various functional areas within the polysilicon plant to meet the highest standards set by SILFAB for product quality and process efficiency. The fully integrated facility will maximize raw material and energy efficiency while minimizing impact to the environment and to become a model in the industry for the goal of zero discharge and a more sustainable production model.
Mr. Phillips, SCC president and CEO, said, "With today's global challenges, it is not enough that we provide cost effective solutions for the manufacture of solar materials and a good return to investors, but doing so while fully respecting our environment. With SILFAB and SCC's commitment to these goals and the application of SCC's proprietary technology these challenges will be met. We are pleased to have been chosen by SILFAB as their technology partner. "
From Franco Traverso, SILFAB S.p.A.'s Chairman and CEO: "Our Engineers interviewed several companies promoting their technical expertise in trichlorosilane production technology, but found that they were at times not much more than a website rather than an actual technology company. However, Silicon Chemical Corporation was found not only to be experts in trichlorosilane and polysilicon production technology, but had all the necessary tools and the devoted and experienced staff in place to support SILFAB's cutting edge technology requirements and aggressive project schedule."
