The economy in Iraq grows constantly and the forecast for the Iraqi national economy is decidedly good. According to the Foreign Ministry it is estimated that the average of the growth rates of the Iraqi economy will be on average 9 per cent in the years to come. The engine of this development is the Iraqi’s wealth of fossil fuels: With an estimated 143 billion barrels, the country has the third largest oil and with 3.17 billion cubic meters the twelfth largest natural gas reserves in the world.
