Yes, it’s inherently portable because it doesn’t need any large infrastructure associated with it. We’re just passing a beam of light through things, and it could be most anything, solid, liquid, or gas. The sample handling usually determines what structure needs to be around it, but as far as spectrometer is concerned, the only resources it needs would be electrical power.
