ePlus Product Information Management Solution Selected By Global Chemical Company

Herndon, VA - ePlus inc. recently announced that its Enterprise Content Management software has been selected by a global chemical company to manage its product data requirements in support of a global enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation.

The company was looking for a solution that could manage a high volume of supplier product data, based on flexible commodity schema. In addition, it needed to support its workflow processes for record creation, tracking historical records via an audit trail, and also take advantage of its internal maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) knowledge base.

The underlying need was to transform raw product data from multiple sources into consistent, structured data as a single point of reference - regardless of the source. In addition, the selected solution had to syndicate with MySAP, meet the company's certification and NEA requirements, and provide multi-language and multi-currency support to facilitate a global rollout. At the same time, the solution had to fit the company's standard architecture direction for database standards, import standards, and exporting and security configurations.

"The selection of ePlus' Enterprise Content Management solution is another example of how our patented software helps medium, large, and in this case, very large organizations unravel the tangle of product definition and commodity classification," said Ken Farber, president of ePlus Systems. "Clean product data is the foundation for the entire supply chain process, from initial product selection and compliance to contracts and the invoicing process."
