Colder Products Company's Drumquik PRO Honored As A Finalist For Flow Control Magazine's 2007 Product Innovation Awards
St. Paul, MI - Colder Products Company, a leading provider of quick-disconnect couplings and dispensing systems, today announced that its DrumQuik PRO chemical dispensing system is a finalist in Flow Control magazine's annual Innovation Awards. The award is designed to recognize the industry's most compelling advances in fluid handling technology, showcasing new products in the categories of fluid measurement, control, and containment.
The DrumQuik PRO provides safe, easy and economic extraction of chemicals from drums, jerry cans and other bulk transfer containers while helping to reduce costly spills, contain hazardous fumes, and enhance workplace safety. The easy-to-use, closed-system design combines into one integrated unit a recyclable bung closure and dip-tube with a reusable quick disconnect coupler, ensuring that both sides are sealed from point-of-origin to point-of-use.
"The best way to minimize exposure when dispensing chemicals from bulk containers is with a closed system that eliminates the removal of the inserted dip-tube from the drum," said Thomas Braun, business unit manager, chemical and packaging products, Colder Products Company. "DrumQuik PRO allows users to easily dispense chemicals by removing a shipping plug and then locking the coupler in place. This eliminates the need to install, remove or clean a dip-tube, minimizing the potential for fluid or vapor contact while allowing fast changeovers."
Container Technology, Inc., a Santa Barbara, Calif.-based company whose primary business is ensuring that its customers have the highest-quality containers for hazardous chemical transport and end-user dispensing, offers the DrumQuik PRO to its customers as both a standalone component or as an integrated package where the DrumQuik PRO is pre-inserted into high-purity or general purpose drums and containers.
"Our customers are very satisfied and impressed with the DrumQuik PRO system," said Gary Clancy, managing director at Container Technology. "In comparing the improved safety, ease-of-use and cost-efficiency of the DrumQuik PRO with other methods, the benefits are clear."
Nominees for the Innovation Awards were chosen based on the product's ability to improve on existing technology, perform a process more efficiently, outstanding operating characteristics (e.g., accuracy pressure range, repeatability, size, temperature range, weight, etc.), and user testimonials. The winner will be determined by the readers. Readers are encouraged to vote for the most innovative products in a variety of categories.
The 2007 Flow Control Innovation Awards will be presented at ISA Expo, October 2-4, 2007, at the Reliant Center in Houston, Texas.
