BASF India Limited Completes Divestiture Of Stilbene-Based Optical Brightening Agents Business To Archroma India Pvt Ltd.

BASF India Limited has closed the previously announced transaction to divest its stilbene-based Optical Brightening Agents (OBA) business for paper and powder detergents to Archroma India Private Limited effective December 06, 2019. Archroma India is a member of the Archroma Group, a global leader in color and specialty chemicals. The transaction includes the stilbene-based OBA product portfolio of BASF’s Performance Chemicals and Care Chemicals division and the manufacturing unit at Ankleshwar, India.

The specialty optical brightener technology Tinopal CBS, which BASF Suisse SA manufactures at its production site in Monthey, Switzerland, will remain core to BASF’s Home Care and Industrial & Institutional Cleaning portfolio and is not in the scope of the divestiture.
