Fluorochem, Inc., is engaged in contract research and development in the area of chemistry and small scale manufacturing. R & D customers include the U. S Government and private industrial organizations. Research areas are diverse, and include novel silicone and fluoropolymer coatings for fouling release ship coatings, and nitro and difluoramino compounds for rocket propellants. A pilot plant, with reactors to 100 gallon capacity; is used for custom manufacturing of organic compounds, including materials such as drug intermediates and liquid crystal components. Projects include comprehensive programs starting with basic research and continuing through development of manufacturing processes, as well as programs limited to any of these areas.
