Karl Fischer reagents have remained the standard moisture analysis procedure in the laboratory for over 50 years
Karl Fischer reagents have remained the standard moisture analysis procedure in the laboratory for over 50 years. For much of that time, the formulations were basically unchanged. However, in the mid-1970's, the founder of Ericsen instruments discovered a formulation that would become the Ericsen KF reagent line and a new generation of Karl Fischer reagents was available to the analytical market. This new product line is the first stable, non-hygroscopic titrant, the first pyridine-free coulometric reagents available in the U.S., and the very first volumetric reagents specially formulated for the analysis of ketones.

GFS Chemicals, Inc. acquired this product line in 1990 and now markets the products under the name WATERMARK® KF REAGENTS. Our reagents are used in a variety of applications, from coulometric generator, vessel and diaphragmless vessel solutions to volumetric single reagent and two-component systems.

Offering faster results, higher accuracy, ultra-high sensitivity, longer shelf life, and wider application range without the nasty pyridine odor, our Karl Fischer reagents are some of the best in the industry. No matter what instrumentation you utilize, GFS has a KF reagent product to fit your need. GFS Chemicals is ISO-9002 certified. We manufacture a wide range of quality, reagent-grade chemicals at our plant in Columbus, Ohio, and have been since 1928. In-stock orders are shipped within 24 hours to customers across the country and around the world.
