The World's Best Plate Heat Exchanger Manufacturer: DHP Engineering Co., Ltd.
Korea has been recognized as the best ship building country in the world. One of the reasons for maintaining such an honorable status is that companies providing components for ship building have also remained as the best quality providers around the world.
DHP Engineering Co., Ltd.(hereinafter “DHP Engineering”) is one of the providers, proudly manufacturing the best plate heat exchangers for ship building companies around the world.
Since its foundation in 1978 in Busan, Korea, DHP Engineering has become one of the best plate heat exchanger companies in Korea, and is becoming one of the fastest growing companies in the industry around the world. The company was appointed as a Bright Prospect Small and Medium Enterprise by Korea Commercial Bank in 1984 and received “Energy Control Public Chief Director” and “Excellency Prize” by the Minister of Industry and Energy in 1981 and 1982, respectively.
Its main clients include Hyundai Heavy Industries, POSCO, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, LG Chem, DSME Co, China Shipbuilding Corporation, and other companies in Korea and foreign countries.
DHP Engineering’s main product plate heat changers have been around more than 100 years. The product is composed of a fixed frame, a movable frame and corrugated plates which are located in between the two frames. Hot and cold liquid pass through the corrugated plates, and to prevent any leakage problem, gaskets are mounted around the plates and tightening bolts are used to put the plates together.
The hot liquid passes upward and the cold liquid passes downward to increase heat transfer efficiency. This company makes the product more advantageous than the other types of heat exchangers, such as Shell & Tube, because the corrugations in the plates increase the liquid turbulence to a low Reynolds number.
Moreover, the liquids flow is counteractive, resulting in the heat transfer efficiency to be three to five times greater than that of Shell & Tube heat exchangers. DHP Engineering’s heat exchangers are applied not only to ship building industry, but also to various other industries, such as automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical, steel, and textile industries.
