CHEM SHOW '99: The patented automatic orifice in the company's steam trap effectively removes system dirt, improving system efficiency and eliminating trap failure due to blockage- a major problem with conventional steam traps. Appropriate trap applications include drop legs, winterizing and processsteam tracing, autoclaves, and radiators, with operating pressure ranges from 10 to 150 psig (0.68 to 10 bar) and temperatures up to 365° F (185° C).

Unlike most other traps, this trap cannot be oversized; the patented modulator system responds to the specific load of each application (from 0 to 200 lb/h [0 to 91 kg/h]). And, as condensate and particles pass through its in-line flow pattern, a constant water seal prevents live steam loss. The trap's simple, compact thermostatic design requires no mechanical parts, which eliminates the inherent wear caused by cycling and extends service life. It installs in any position and is not sensitive to backpressure.

The automatic variable orifice steam trap is offered in a 1 1/16 inch stainless steel hex body with brass and fluorocarbon FKM wetted parts. Available end connections include: ½ inch NPT female pipe, ½ inch ISO female pipe, and ½ inch VCO face seal fitting for easy trap removal with no axial clearance.
