Stainless Steel Filter

The company has developed and launched a completely new 154 mm (6 inch) wedge wire hygienic stainless steel filter. The filter is suitable for use in the pharmaceutical, chemical, food, beverage and dairy industries. It's simple, robust design and backwashing facility for cleaning giver very high security against breakthrough. It is suitable for strainer applications which require uniform product consistency.

The new inline filter will remove particles as small as 25 microns from process feeds, at much greater flow rates than the standard filters can achieve. The new filter will accommodate pipeline sizes from 2 in. to 4 in. and adapters are available for 5 in. and 6 in. lines. Flow rates of 40m³/hr have been achieved with 50 micron elements.

The filter is fitted with a wedge wire element, which is manufactured in 316L stainless steel. It is available in 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000 micron filtration ratings, as standard. The filter complements the company's capabilities for design of cross-flow membrane filtration systems for the process industries.

Purchasing the filter is a one-off cost, requiring no replacement elements. The new compact filter's wedge wire construction has proven its reliability and cleanliness in the past. The filter can be cleaned and sterilized in situ, with no special tools required for general servicing. The unit can also withstand high backflushing pressures with minimal risk of the element rupturing.
