TriCal Inc. And Niklor Chemical Company Announce Joint Venture For Chloropicrin Production

TriCal Inc., and Niklor Chemical Company today announced that they have signed an agreement that will create a joint venture to operate Niklor's chloropicrin production facilities in Mojave, California. The venture will improve and increase the production of chloropicrin and increase storage capacity at the Mojave facility.

Niklor's business is the production of chloropicrin, a liquid fumigant applied directly to soil to control soil borne diseases such as Verticilium wilt and Fusarium. TriCal is a soil fumigation company that applies a number of fumigants such as methyl bromide and TeloneÒ. Niklor currently produces the majority of TriCal's requirements for chloropicrin.

"This joint venture will guarantee and secure a supply of chloropicrin that will meet our growing requirements," said Dean Storkan, president of TriCal. "In addition the agreement secures financial and technical support for the improvement of Niklor's facility and production process."

John Wilhelm, Niklor's president said "Niklor and TriCal have been working together and cooperating for more than 40 years. This announcement will enhance the future development and relationships of both companies."
