Pneumatic Conveying Systems Prescription For Maximizing Material Delivery
By VAC-U-MAX
Whether it is direct loading of blenders, mixers, and other vacuum tolerant vessels, gentle handling of empty or filled capsules, the dust-free transfer of ingredients to table presses, or clean up of materials, pneumatic conveying systems and vacuum technology have become an indispensible tool in streamlining pharmaceutical and nutraceutical production lines.

Online Silica Analyzer At PPL Power Plant Pays For Itself In Three Days
Silica analyzers in modern power plants keep operators aware of harmful silica concentrations in the water-steam turbine cycle. In the boiler, silica forms silicate deposits that interfere with heat transfer and are very difficult to remove. In the turbine, silica deposits on the blades and causes drastic decreases in efficiency. Power plants with high-pressure boilers closely monitor silica concentrations to avoid these problems.
Polymer Linings For Restoration And Corrosion Protection Of Steel Surfaces
An analysis of the two failed coatings applied previously showed that a high permeance of the coatings and the presence of pinholes in the coating were the primary cause of the failures. Both were approximately 65% solids by volume bisphenol A epoxies which had been applied in 3 coats to a total film thickness of 15 to 16 mils.
Electrochemistry Theory And Practice
An electrochemical cell for pH measurement always consists of an indicating electrode whose potential is directly proportional to pH, a reference electrode whose potential is independent of pH, and the aqueous sample to be measured. If all three parts are in contact with each other, a potential can be measured between the indicating electrode and the reference electrode, which depends on the pH of the sample and its temperature.
Working Together To Solve A Feeding Problem
Pfizer Inc., headquartered in New York, produces human and animal prescription medicines for national and international markets. One of the company's global research and development centers, located in Ann Arbor, MI, operates a pharmaceutical sciences pilot plant in nearby Holland, MI, that produces preproduction quantities of various products for testing before full-scale production at other facilities. The pilot plant was experiencing an ongoing problem manually feeding a range of solid materials into various-sized inerted reaction vessels that contained a solvent.
