PVC VCM Manufacture
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a major worldwide commodity used for the manufacture of a vast array of commercial and consumer goods including pipe, siding, wire, cable, film, and sheet stock. PVC plants typically produce from 100 to 2,000 million pounds per year of polymer with most producing in the 300 to 600 million pounds per year range. Vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), the base component for production of PVC polymers, is the foundation on which final product quality is built. VCM plants typically have the capacity to produce 800 to 1,400 million pounds per year.
Polymer Concrete For Structural Restoration And Corrosion Protection Of Concrete Support Columns
A large copper mine and refinery in the western U.S. had a dilemma. Their cell house, which contains over 1,500 cells, each holding more than 20,000 gallons of electrolyte, had experienced severe corrosion and structural degradation of the support columns for the tanks. These columns support the cells in their solvent extraction and electrowinning process. This process entails immersion of a stainless steel cathode or "starter plate" into the electrolyte.
Factors To Consider For Successful Mixing Trials
Laboratory testing is an integral part of equipment procurement. In the case of mixing and blender equipment, two or more fundamentally different devices may present to be viable solutions to a particular process, and the only way of determining the best technology is by performing lab tests. This hands-on approach works best when the main variables — raw materials, temperature, pressure, batch size, etc. — are simulated as close as possible to the actual process.
