ConoFlex 381 Chemical Resistant Coating

It is with great excitement that we introduce Sauereisen's latest technological advancement, ConoFlex 381. ConoFlex 381 is an environmentally friendly 100% solids, elastomeric hybrid polymer lining which provides superior chemical resistance to a host of aggressive chemicals. Officially an aromatic polyurethane, this polymer lining exhibits outstanding flexibility. Think of ConoFlex No. 381 as an upgrade to competitive material based on improved chemical resistance and greater build characteristics. Other attributes include:

• Greater elongation and flexibility than an epoxy
• Better chemical resistance
• For applications over steel and concrete
• Limited downtown (placed back into service in 24 hours)
• USDA BioPreferred Certified

This product is ideally suited for applications over both steel and concrete substrates and is particularly well suited for dynamic environments such as secondary containment dikes and chemical immersion tankage. It is applied via specialized plural component equipment and is capable of building thick film linings in excess of 125 mils per coat.

Typically, no primer is needed when ConoFlex is applied over steel. Exceptions would be when there is a delay between blasting and topcoat application or if there are specific substrate uncertainties.

For concrete substrates, Sauereisen requires the use of our new ConoPrime No. 502, an ultra-high solids epoxy primer designed to minimize outgassing of air and moisture vapor. No. 502 will enhance the bond while maintaining a 72-hour recoat window at 70oF for all concrete applications and select steel applications. Sauereisen Urethane Filler Compound No. 309 may be used to repair the surface and is applied over the primer.
