New York, NY - All components of GoatThroat Pumps have now been certified to meet stringent new worldwide regulations aimed at reducing or eliminating materials which are hazardous to the environment. These substances pollute landfills and are dangerous in terms of occupational exposure during manufacturing and recycling. The GoatThroat Pump series of products now meet current and prospective regulations, including Directive 200/53/EC, European End of Life Vehicle (ELV), Restriction on Hazardous Substances (RoHS), and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE); and Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know (EPCRA) and Proposition 65, California, Consent Judgment for wire and cable manufacturers, in the United States. The substances banned under RoHS are lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (CrVI), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).

"This certification is the latest example of our commitment to meet the needs of the marketplace which demands environmentally sensitive products," said Nancy Westcott, President, GoatThroat Pumps. "This also demonstrates our ability, as a global leader in environmentally preferable liquid transfer solutions, to deliver significant products that address local and regional regulations."

Using high performance materials including Moplen polypropylene from Basel, Viton from Dupont, and Santoprene from Advanced Elastomer Systems (AES), an affiliate of ExxonMobil Chemical Company, GoatThroat Pumps serve industries which rely on the characteristics that high performance materials offer in order to make their products work effectively. High performance materials provide several advantages. These include: cleanliness for high purity applications, low out-gassing for analytical equipment, corrosion resistance, long life, strength, reliability, weight reduction, and durability.

Primarily for low viscosity liquids, GoatThroat products are suited for manufacturing processes within the pharmaceutical, semiconductor, medical, printing, food production, fuel cell, aerospace, chemical processing and analysis instrumentation industries. They are also suited for all agriculture and land use applications. Offered with Viton, Santoprene, EPDM or Nitrile depending on the fluid, they are also recyclable.
