Industrial Gas And Basic Chemical Manufacturing In China Industry Research Report – Now Available From IBISWorld

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB)  In the five years through 2013, the Industrial Gas and Basic Chemical Manufacturing industry in China has been growing at an annualized rate of 15.5% to reach $44.5 billion, says IBISWorld. As the industry produces a wide range of chemical raw materials, its performance is largely determined by the activities of downstream manufacturing industries, such as the Iron and Steel Smelting industry.

The Industrial Gas and Basic Chemical Manufacturing industry in China is characterized by a large number of small facilities producing a wide range of specialty chemicals. The largest identifiable product segment, industrial gases, is expected to account for just over half of industry revenue. Over the past five years, growth rates varied widely among product segments. The industrial gases segment experienced steady growth, while market conditions for yellow phosphorus fluctuated dramatically, says IBISWorld.

The top four companies in this industry – Xingfa Group, Sichuan Chuantou Chemical Industry Group, Xuzhou Guohua Industry and Trade, and Air Liquide – are expected to jointly account for less than 10.0% of total industry revenue. Industrial gas plants are extremely fragmented throughout the country due to the high costs involved in storage and transportation, says IBISWorld. However, concentration levels vary among segments. For example, the top four yellow phosphorus manufacturers account for more than half of total production in China.

The publicly announced 12th Five-Year Development Plan for the Petrochemical Industry (2011 to 2015) encourages the merging of industry enterprises to promote the development and increase the scale of the industry. As the transportation range of industrial gases increases, coupled with frequent acquisitions occurring among phosphorus chemical companies, IBISWorld forecasts that the industry concentration level will increase steadily.
